NEED ASSISTANCE? We’re here to help

Each year more than 20,000 people in Jefferson County and those experiencing homelessness from across our community look to The Action Center for help. People come to us with a variety of needs and with their own unique stories – they leave feeling seen, heard and supported.

We offer free food, clothing and personal items in an environment of respect, kindness, and dignity. We’ll work with you to address your longer-term needs by connecting you to the resources, services and supports that can help you move towards greater stability and hope.

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

In 1968, a group of volunteers who were concerned about struggling families in their community formed The Action Center. A half century later, volunteerism is still at the core of The Action Center. Our volunteers create a vibrant and active community focused on providing much needed services to the community. And they have tons of fun too!

SCHOOL SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION

Each year, the Action Center helps almost 5,000 students start the schoolyear right. We provide children in Pre-K through Grade 12 with a new backpack filled with school supplies. Households experiencing financial hardship with students attending Jeffco schools,, living in Jeffco, or experiencing homelessness are eligible to receive a new backpack and supplies. Thanks to our amazing community, we can make sure each child and their families are read to start the new school year with the tools they need for academic success.
